I’ve always loved animals, but dogs hold a very special place in my heart—especially those who struggle with anxiety and fear and need extra patience, attention, and calming care.
My journey began a few years ago in Florida, when I decided to leave my corporate career behind and follow my passion. I started walking and pet sitting dogs, and soon I was referred to a family whose pup struggled with resource guarding. While the family prepared to travel overseas, I worked closely with a trainer to ensure the dog felt safe and supported. During that time, the trainer noticed something I had always felt—that I have a natural calming presence with dogs.
As I continued to work with the trainer’s other clients, I discovered my true calling, providing not just reliable care, but gentle, compassionate support for dogs who need it most. Helping nervous dogs feel safe—and giving their families the freedom to travel and enjoy life knowing their pets are in good hands—is what inspired me to create Calm Canines.

Exercise is more than just burning energy — it’s about balance.
Physical activity helps regulate hormones, relieve stress, and maintain a healthy weight, but it also gives dogs an outlet for natural instincts like sniffing, exploring, and problem-solving. Without enough movement, dogs can become bored, anxious, or reactive.
At Calm Canines, our walks and hikes are designed to fit your dog’s energy level — from curious sniffers to high-energy adventurers — so they can move, release, and relax in a healthy way.
Mental stimulation is exercise for the brain.
It includes scent games, puzzle feeders, enrichment toys, and even slow, mindful sniff walks. Engaging a dog’s mind helps reduce stress, prevent destructive habits, and increase confidence — especially for anxious or reactive dogs.
Our Enrichment Visits are designed to provide this kind of mental and emotional engagement, leaving your dog calm, content, and fulfilled.
We specialize in gentle, consent-based care.
That means we move at your dog’s pace, using calm energy, positive reinforcement, and body language awareness to build trust. Over time, this approach helps reduce reactivity, build confidence, and create a more relaxed, happy companion.
Dogs thrive on routine and predictability. During visits or overnight care, we follow your dog’s schedule closely — including feeding, walks, medication, and bedtime habits — to create a sense of safety and calm while you’re away.
